Dewater and pump floods

Flooded trench, basement after the storm or continuous groundwater control: the right pump is chosen by flow and total head. SIMAQ 3" and 4" pumps move water with solids without choking.

Field rules

Do it right the first time

01

Compute total head: suction + discharge + hose losses. Nameplate flow drops fast with head.

02

Keep suction short and airtight: every extra meter on suction costs double what it costs on discharge.

03

Strainer always on: one wrong-size rock kills your impeller mid-emergency.

Nameplate flow is measured at 0 m of head — at your jobsite's real head it's always lower. Keep at least 15% reserve, keep suction short and airtight, and always run the strainer with solids.
