Size your light tower

Divide your work-front area by each tower's useful coverage: the NIGHTMASTER 350LED (7 m mast, 4 × 350 W LED) covers about 2,200 m² and the SQTLK 6000 (9 m mast) about 3,300 m². Up to about 2,400 m² the LED tower is the pick; for larger fronts, the 9 m tower covers more with fewer units.

Bad light = accidents and rework. Calculate how many towers cover your work front without falling short.

Area to light1,500 m²

≈ a work front about 22 m in radius. Choose by coverage, not just lamp count.

LED delivers more usable light at far less fuel than halogen — for repeated shifts, the diesel savings cover the difference. Taller mast = more area with fewer shadows. Check runtime on a full tank for the whole shift.

Light the job yourself

The m² count is the starting point. Place the towers on the plan and see if it really is enough: corners and long trenches prove it wrong.

FAQ

What people ask most

How many light towers do I need for my site?

Divide the area to light by each tower's useful coverage: about 2,200 m² for the NIGHTMASTER 350LED and about 3,300 m² for the SQTLK 6000. For 5,000 m², for example, that's 3 NIGHTMASTERs or 2 SQTLK 6000s.

LED or metal-halide light tower?

For repeated night shifts, LED pays off: the NIGHTMASTER 350LED (4 × 350 W) gives more useful light on far less diesel. The SQTLK 6000, with a 9 m mast and metal-halide lamps, covers more area per tower.

What mast height do I need?

More height covers more area with fewer shadows: the NIGHTMASTER 350LED rises to 7 m and the SQTLK 6000 to 9 m. If the work front is large or cluttered, the 9 m tower saves you units.

Is counting lamps enough to pick a tower?

No: choose by the coverage of your work front, not by lamp count. And check that the run time on a full tank lasts the whole shift.

What engine do SIMAQ light towers use?

Both run a Kubota D1105 diesel engine: the NIGHTMASTER 350LED and the SQTLK 6000.
