Case: paving an urban street in fewer passes
A residential subdivision needed to compact granular base and then asphalt in narrow streets without blocking neighborhood traffic more than necessary. Here's the approach that works.
The challenge
Base lifts that wouldn't densify at the bottom, edges and curbs where a big roller won't fit, and short work windows from traffic.
The SIMAQ solution
- Granular base: 0.8 t double-drum roller (SQRDWB L34) for even travel.
- Edges and curbs: SQ15 PRO vibratory plate where the roller can't reach.
- Water sprinkling to keep asphalt from sticking on the wearing course.
The result
Fewer passes to reach density, well-finished edges with no rework and a crew closing more meters per shift. (Illustrative application case.)
Takeaway
For urban roadwork, pair a double-drum roller for the bulk and a plate for edges. Send us the meters and lift type and we'll build the combo.
