Check and refill
Engine, hydraulic and fuel levels. Fill the water tank and confirm spray on both drums.
- 02
Start with vibration off
Position the machine, bring the engine to full throttle, and only then engage vibration (it won't kick in at low rpm). Move the travel lever smoothly.
- 03
Static pass first on asphalt
A pass without vibration beds the mix; then vibrate to densify. On granular you can vibrate from the start.
- 04
Overlap a third of the drum
Each lane covers a third of the previous one. Roll forward and back on the same line for evenness.
- 05
Finish with a static pass
Turn vibration off and make a final pass to erase marks and leave a smooth surface.
Do this
- Keep the sprinkler open on asphalt so it won't stick.
- Work at a steady speed: not crawling, not racing.
- Use the lifting point to load and unload it.
Avoid this
- Don't leave it vibrating stationary on asphalt: it dents it.
- Don't vibrate near a slab, pipe or structure without assessing.
- Don't forget the brake when parking on a slope.
Safety
- Boots, gloves, glasses and hearing protection.
- Mind your feet: the drum doesn't stop on a dime.
- Watch the handle pinch point on turns.
