Diesel, gasoline or electric: which engine fits the job
There's no «best» engine: there's the right one for your use. Three variables decide — usage intensity, portability and where you work.
engine types
gasoline line
diesel line
Gasoline: portable and easy-starting
Gasoline engines (Honda) are light, start easily and cost less up front. Ideal for small and mid-size general-use gear: plates, vibrators, trowels, pumps.
Diesel: torque and runtime for heavy use
For rollers, light towers and generators running long shifts, diesel (Kubota, Yanmar, Kohler) delivers torque, runtime and lower hourly consumption. It costs more, but pays off in continuous use.
Electric: zero emissions and low noise
Indoors, in basements, tunnels or unventilated areas, electric is the only safe option: no emissions, low noise. The trade-off is runtime (battery or cable), so you plan the work front around it.
Takeaway
Occasional, portable use → gasoline. Heavy use and big gear → diesel. Indoors or no emissions → electric. Every SIMAQ runs world-brand engines any shop can service.
