How to use the water pump

The pump dewaters trenches and excavations and handles water with the suspended solids typical on site. Priming and suction are the key.

Coming soon

In the meantime, follow the step-by-step guide.

  1. 01

    Place near the water

The shorter and lower the suction hose, the better it primes. Firm, level ground.

  2. 02

    Prime the casing

Fill the pump casing with water through the priming plug before starting. A dry-run pump gets damaged.

  3. 03

    Strainer on the suction

Fit the strainer on the suction end so large stones and rags don't get in.

  4. 04

    Start and check flow

Start and give it a few seconds: steady water should come out the discharge. If not, check for air leaks in the suction.

  5. 05

    Route the discharge away

Send the water well away from the excavation so it won't return. Watch the level and switch off when done.

Do this

  • Always prime the casing before starting.
  • Keep suction joints well sealed (no air ingress).
  • Choose the size (3" or 4") by flow and head.

Avoid this

  • Don't run it dry, not even a minute.
  • Don't suck without a strainer: you'll clog the impeller.
  • Don't exceed the recommended suction lift.

Safety

  • Hot exhaust: keep it ventilated, away from fuel.
  • Mind hose runs across foot and equipment traffic.
  • Gloves and boots when handling dirty site water.

Frequently asked

How much area does a light tower cover?

A high-reach LED tower covers large worksite areas with a telescopic mast. Tell us your work front and we'll size it.

Which pump for which flow?

3" or 4" pump depending on flow and discharge head, with LONCIN engines, for water with suspended solids typical on site.

Kubota / Kohler engines?

Yes, we run world-brand engines (Kubota, Kohler, Honda, Yanmar) — the same ones any shop already services.
